”quantum Mechanical Black Holes: Issues and Ramifications”

چکیده
The recent model of Quantum Mechanical Black Holes is discussed and its implications for cosmology, particle structure, low dimensionality and other issues are examined. 1 The ”Ganesha” Quantum Mechanical Black Hole Model It was shown in a previous communication that a typical elementary particle, the electron can be considered to be what was termed a Quantum Mechanical Black Hole (or QMBH), made up of a relativistic fluid of subconstituents, or ”Ganeshas” described by the Kerr-Newman metric giving both its gravitational and electromagnetic fields and also the anomalous gyromagnetic ratio. Alternatively the QMBH could be described as a relativistic vortex in the hydrodynamical formulation. It was pointed out that the QMBH or vortex could also be thought of as a relativisitc rotating shell reminiscent of the earlier Dirac model. Quantum mechanical path integrals and thermal radiation in static curved spacetimes
Quantum mechanical path integrals [1–4], also called first quantised path integrals, have been applied to some problems in curved spacetimes [5], such as to cosmological and black-holes issues [6–11]. A remarkable theoretical prediction in semi-classical gravity is that of the thermal and quantum radiation of black holes [12,13]. This result is recovered again in the present paper within the fo...
متن کاملQuantum Geometry In Action: Big Bang and Black Holes
Over the last three years, a number of fundamental issues in quantum gravity were addressed in the framework of quantum geometry, discussed extensively by John Baez in this conference. In particular, these include: A statistical mechanical derivation of the horizon entropy, encompassing astrophysically interesting black holes cosmological horizons, and a natural resolution of the big-bang singu...
متن کاملAn Introduction to Black Hole Evaporation
Classical black holes are defined by the property that things can go in, but don’t come out. However, Stephen Hawking calculated that black holes actually radiate quantum mechanical particles. The two important ingredients that result in back hole evaporation are (1) the spacetime geometry, in particular the black hole horizon, and (2) the fact that the notion of a “particle” is not an invarian...
متن کاملSupersymmetric Quantum Mechanical Description of Four Dimensional Black Holes
By assuming the existence of a novel multipronged string state for D-particles interacting with D-brane intersections in type IIA string theory, we are able to derive a quantum mechanical description of supersymmetric Reissner-Nordstrom black holes. A supersymmetric index calculation provides evidence for this conjecture. The quantum mechanical system becomes two decoupled conformal quantum mec...
متن کاملThermal Fields, Entropy, and Black Holes
In this review we describe statistical mechanics of quantum systems in the presence of a Killing horizon and compare statistical-mechanical and one-loop contributions to black hole entropy. Studying these questions was motivated by attempts to explain the entropy of black holes as a statistical-mechanical entropy of quantum fields propagating near the black hole horizon. We provide an introduct...
